Anna CicognaniChief Executive OfficerAnna has served as CEO and other C-level roles in public and private Companies, such as APN, PMP, Telstra, and Fairfax, and publicly listed startup GeoOp. She has been involved in digital media and technology projects of all sizes, as an operator and an investor, for over 20 years. She has also published peer-reviewed research papers, articles and book chapters on virtual worlds, linguistics and design. Her passion for all things digital and innovation has delivered high growth and turnaround outcomes. Anna was awarded a PhD from the University of Sydney, she’s a Honorary Professor at the University of Wollongong in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences, and a Director on the Board of Basketball Australia. Thomas ChapmanChief Financial OfficerTom is a strategic finance leader with local and international experience in rapid growth-phase companies. Most recently Tom was Global Head of Finance for private-equity-backed, youth media company, Nitro Circus. Tom has held senior finance positions with US pharmaceutical company Allergan and with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Audit and Transaction Services. Tom is responsible for Orbx’s financial planning, budgets and forecasts, financial reporting, tax and treasury. Tom holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Carlo LeonessaHead of OperationsCarlo is an experienced operations and program leader with experience across multiple industries. In the last 15 years he led multiple projects for NSW Transport and provided executive leadership for a national telehealth company, Healthdirect Australia. Carlo’s role on the Orbx team is to ensure efficient and timely delivery of programs and production. Carlo holds a Bachelor of Science from Griffith University and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration with the University of Technology, Sydney. Ed CorreiaHead of PartnersEd joined Orbx in 2010 as a developer before moving into a production management role. Prior to becoming full time with Orbx in October 2019, Ed had worked for Australia Post in various positions with his last role being involved with the administration of contracts and policies in its franchise division. Ed’s role at Orbx is fundamental to the success of our Partners. Ben McClintockHead of TechnologyBen has been with Orbx since 2014, and begun his tenure by spearheading the development of OrbxDirect – Orbx’s inhouse eCommerce and delivery platform. The redeveloped platform is tailored specifically for the distribution of flight simulation software and to provide a user friendly and easier to administrate system for all of Orbx’s products. Following the successful launch in 2016, Ben has headed Orbx’s growing Platform and Technology team to develop technologies that further distinguish Orbx from all others in the consumer flight simulation space. Ben holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from Swinburne University of Technology. Greg JonesUK Development ManagerGreg has worked in the IT industry in a wide range of support roles at various levels since 1989. He spent the early part of his career as a network specialist predominantly within the finance and logistics sectors. Since the mid-80s he nurtured an interest in flight simulation which ultimately led to the founding of Turbulent Designs in 2013. In recent years, he has worked within the defence and marine industries, recently providing services and support to the likes of Lockheed Martin UK, BP, Qinetiq and Royal Caribbean. Jarrad MarshallHead of IndiesWith close to 20 years experience, Jarrad is a respected leader in the flight simulation industry. Since first joining Orbx in 2006, Jarrad has developed major scenery titles for the company, with a focus towards flagship airport products. Alongside his technical work, he has also strongly contributed to the development of the Orbx brand and position as market leader over this time. As Head of Indies, Jarrad oversees the project management, and coordination of a diverse team of developers across the globe, with an emphasis towards developing highly innovative and quality titles. Jarrad is passionate about all things related to aviation, music and travel. Ellise ChristopherBusiness Development ManagerEllise has over 25 years experience with project management and flight simulation providing aircraft flight training solutions to the military, businesses and consumers alike including published consumer aircraft. She is well versed on current flight simulators and hardware, knowing how to provide world class solutions in partnership with our amazing consumer products. As an advocate of STEM, in particular in the flight simulation industry, she has turned her passion for flying into a long career developing and delivering solutions to a wide range of young people. Holger SandmannHead of GeospatialPassionate about aviation and flight simulation, Holger has two decades of experience working with geospatial data and imagery, creating representations of real-world landscapes and ground scenery for a variety of flight simulation platforms. Since joining Orbx in 2008, he has contributed to many of the company’s products and is supporting airport and scenery developers in the acquisition and processing of source data. Holger holds an MSc in geography from Philipps University (Marburg, Germany), and previously worked on research projects in forest and landscape ecology at Simon Fraser University (Vancouver, Canada). Tony WroblewskiSenior ArchitectTony is an IT professional with 22 years experience in the field. He started his career as a teacher training people for Microsoft engineer qualifications before moving in to genetics and clinical databases. He has created many new products which are still being used and built upon today, including one being used by places such as The Roslin Institute (aka. Dolly the sheep) and UPMC University hospital. He is also a keen aviation nerd and flight simmer and Orbx is the perfect opportunity to marry both passion and career, and create many new exciting products.
